Moholy-Nagy's "Lobsters"

Submitted by Dan on Mon, 2009-07-13 15:08

Moholy-Nagy's "Lobsters" is a remarkable and strange film. A 3-minute preview of "Lobsters" can be viewed at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M9tLdFaEbgk, and the 16-minute film can be purchased here: http://www.moholy-nagy.org/SearchResults.asp?Cat=29.

Littlehampton Lobsters "explores the work of internationally renowned Bauhaus artist Laszlo Moholy-Nagy who was inspired by Littlehampton’s blooming lobster fishing industry and stunning historic boatyards during his visit to the town in the 1930s. During his two year stay he created the first known underwater film, capturing the fascinating natural habitat of the lobsters, with the Burtenshaw family playing a starring role as one of the many local fishermen’s families featured."
