Feininger's work as a cartoonist

It's amazing that Feininger was so well known as a Bauhaus artist, yet he was also one of the most innovative cartoonists of the 20th Century. Several years ago I saw some of his original comics, as part of the "Masters of American Comics" show, when it was at the Milwaukee Art Museum. That show traveled to several other museums: http://www.nytimes.com/2006/10/13/arts/design/13comi.html. I have a copy of the book which went with that show (http://yalepress.yale.edu/yupbooks/book.asp?isbn=030011317X), and I've used it many times in classes.
