Feininger's work as a cartoonist

It's amazing that Feininger was so well known as a Bauhaus artist, yet he was also one of the most innovative cartoonists of the 20th Century. Several years ago I saw some of his original comics, as part of the "Masters of American Comics" show, when it was at the Milwaukee Art Museum.
